NASA tested chronographs from several makers to destruction in 1965; only the Speedmaster survived thermal shock, vacuum, acceleration and vibration.
The 2021 revision brought the Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a co-axial escapement and 15,000-gauss antimagnetism to a watch that otherwise looks identical to the one worn on the lunar surface.
